                                 Dan and the Wine Gift Basket


It may seem funny telling a story about a wine gift basket.
However, this wine gift basket story is quite unusual and funny.
My wife and I hosted a small get together with some neighbours we also invited a new neighbour just down the street that was from India. Their American names are Dan and Sue and have been in America for about one year.

Dan is an engineer working for a government contract company.
Dan and Sue both were quite excited about being invited and having the opportunity to meet other neighbors.
We all a very pleasant time and enjoyed each other's company but Dan was very intrigued about the wine gift basket, my wife, and I had received from a friend.
My wife and I did not indulge in wine that much and Dan had never tried wine. The wine in the wine gift basket was a sweet wine I offered Dan a glass of wine, and he loved the sweet taste. I told him to help himself and make himself at home. As the night went on Sue left early to take care of her two kids because her mother was going to bed early.
We all gathered in the entertainment room and started to watch a movie my wife had rented.

After a while, I noticed Dan did not join us for the movie and was no longer with us. We all figured that Dan had gone home to join his wife, the next day we discovered what had happened to Dan that night. It appears that Dan has a very low tolerance to alcohol but loves the taste of sweets.

On his way home Dan had fallen into his children's small pool in the backyard. He went into the house and fell asleep in the bath tub his wife came in and tried to wake him up, and after she left the bathroom his young son tryed to wake his father up. The young son decided to turn the water on ( HOT water only ) to help his father wake up. It Worked!

My wife and gave Dan a chocolate gift basket ( No Wine ) Dan loves chocolate and was very happy to receive the new gift basket.
